RF absorbers convert incident electromagnetic energy into low-grade heat, reducing reflections inside test chambers and around antennas. The right absorber depends on the frequency band, the angle of incidence, the available depth, and the chamber's reflectivity target. Pyramidal Microwave Absorber

Highest performance for 1 GHz+. Standard chamber lining for SAC/FAR construction.

Wedge Absorber

Tapered geometry for grazing-angle applications. Commonly used on chamber sidewalls.

Convoluted Absorber

Flexible foam, lower depth, fast install. Pre-compliance and lab benches.

Flat Sheet Absorber

Thin profile, surface-mount. Antenna isolation, cable wrap, equipment cabinets.

Ferrite Tiles & Absorbers

30 MHz – 1 GHz performance in low-depth installs. Hybrid lining with pyramidal.

How to Choose

Frequency band?

Below 1 GHz needs ferrite (or hybrid). Above 1 GHz, pyramidal/wedge dominates.

Available depth?

Less than 100 mm → flat sheet, convoluted, or ferrite. More → pyramidal..

Reflectivity target?

Pre-compliance → -20 to -30 dB. Full anechoic → -40 to -50 dB
